The Measure of Hearing

Mark 4:24-25 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 4 in context

Scripture Focus

24And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
Mark 4:24-25

Biblical Context

Take heed what you hear; your inner attention acts as the measure that returns to you. The receptive mind receives more, while the closed mind loses even what it already has.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice that 'hear' in this gospel is not the motion of the ears but the state of your consciousness. The 'measure' is the mental equivalent you carry as you listen. When you dwell in a listening that is open, trusting, and still, you release a magnetic current that calls forth more clarity, guidance, and opportunity. The world reflects your primary assumption back to you; if you feel you have little, you will be given less, and what you think you lack will vanish from your awareness. If you hear with expectancy—that is, with the assumption that your reality is already formed by the I AM—more is 'given' in the form of insight, connections, and resource. The law is not punitive; it is a universal calibration of your inner state. So practice listening to the truth you want to exist, and revise every limiting thought until your hearing becomes a spacious, generous instrument through which grace flows.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and affirm, 'I am the I AM' as you assume you already possess the outcome you seek. Let one clear, supportive idea fill your inner hearing and feel it as real.
