Forgiveness Within the Heart
Mark 2:6-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Mark 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The scribes question Jesus' authority to forgive sins, while Jesus reads their hearts and responds by exposing the inner movement of judgment.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider Mark 2:6–8 as a scene inside your mind. The scribes are stories you tell about yourself—the inner judgments that declare sin real are simply a belief in separation. Jesus, a symbol of the I AM in you, reads the spirit behind the words and shows the ‘blasphemy’ they fear is not external, but a misperception of unity. In Neville’s terms, God is the I AM awareness that perceives thoughts; forgiveness is not an act done by another but a correction of consciousness. When you feel the inner movement of judgment, you are witnessing an illusion. The power to forgive is the power of recognizing oneness: the same presence that forgives now holds your experience. So the inner scene shifts from condemnation to mercy, from lack to grace, from separation to wholeness. When you stop arguing in your heart and align with the I AM, forgiveness becomes immediate and grace fills your life.
Practice This Now
Sit in silence and revise your inner scene by saying, I am the I AM; I forgive and am forgiven. Feel the unified Presence replace judgment and let the sense of oneness flood your heart.
