The Inner Sabbath Authority
Mark 2:23-28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus reframes the Sabbath from a rigid rule to a living trust in divine law, showing mercy and nourishment can transcend ritual; the inner man governs the outward rules.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice how the text places the disciples’ hunger for corn beside the controversy of the Sabbath. The field and the grain are not external rituals; they are states of consciousness awakening to need. David’s act of eating showbread is recalled not as a crime but as a symbolic nourishment of truth when hunger calls the heart. The Pharisees cling to form, but Jesus points to the deeper law—the Sabbath exists for man, not man for the Sabbath. That Son of Man who stands within your awareness is the master of the day; you, too, are invited to reinterpret the rule as a living expression of inner life. When you feel the tug of an old ordinance in your mind, remember that your awareness is lawful authority over the field you walk. The true Sabbath is not a day added to the calendar but a state of confident receptivity in God, where nourishment and rest flow without resistance.
Practice This Now
Assume the present-tense state: I am the Lord of my Sabbath in this moment. Now feel the freedom and nourishment flowing as your awareness rests confidently in God.
