10And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
Mark 16:9-10

Biblical Context

Jesus rises and first appears to Mary Magdalene. She then informs those who mourn, signaling the dawning of new life breaking into grief.

Neville's Inner Vision

Observe how the text centers the moment of awakening. The risen Jesus is not a far event in space but a dawning state of consciousness in the mind. Mary Magdalene, the representative of the awakened feeling, has had seven devils cast out—an inner cleansing of seven false identifications: fear, limitation, guilt, unworthiness, resentment, doubt, and attachment. When she goes to the tomb of the old self and tells the others, she is simply bearing witness to the inner revolution already accomplished. The mourning and weeping of the others reveal the habit of clinging to the old story; yet the appearance of the risen life asserts that a new self is alive now. The I AM within you is the announcer: you are not bound by the past; you are the living resurrection in action. If you accept this inner reality and dwell in the feeling of I AM, the world is rearranged to reflect that life. The external scene will respond with mercy, liberation, and a fresh testimony that the kingdom is within, not somewhere outside.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, assume the risen Self is here now, and feel I AM as your immediate presence. Picture Mary Magdalene within you delivering the good news to your other self, while the seven devils dissolve into light.
