Biblical Context
In this passage, Simon is compelled to bear Jesus' cross as he is led to Golgotha; Jesus is crucified between two thieves, with mocking voices around, the title 'King of the Jews' declared over him, fulfilling Scripture.
Neville's Inner Vision
Mark 15:21-32 is not a history lesson but a map of your consciousness. The cross is a symbol you place upon your own shoulder when you consent to the task of becoming king in your own life. Simon of Cyrene is your ready state, the I AM in action, stepping forward to share the burden so that your attention can align with the one who truly rules. Golgotha, the place of a skull, is your old, fixed viewpoint dying; the inscription THE KING OF THE JEWS is the awakening that the kingly I AM resides in you now, not in some future event. The two thieves are the competing voices—despair and trust—arguing for your allegiance. The crowd's mockery and the priests' scorn are merely the outer wind of belief; your decision to refuse wine mingled with myrrh—refuse numbing, refuse retreat—aligns you with the will that saves. In this inner drama, the one on the cross is your old self dying while your eternal I AM stands crowned. When you accept this, the world reorients to reflect your kingly state.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and repeat, I AM the King of my life; feel the weight lift as you acknowledge your inner sovereignty. Imagine the I AM lifting the load you bear and becoming the observer of all events, feeling the king within as your present reality.
