Your consciousness is the house; the Son of Man going on a journey represents the I AM leaving you to awaken your own faculties to do their appointed work. The servants are the senses and powers you assign: imagination, memory, will, perception - each given a task under the law of your inner state. The porter at the door is awareness itself; to watch is to refuse the dream of lack, because the master may return at any hour of your inner night or dawn. When you identify with a worn-out habit or fear, you are sleeping; when you assume the feeling of the watcher and claim a new state, you awaken. The master returns as a living now, not as a distant event, and your outer world rearranges to match your inward order. See every moment as an invitation to revise your state; by persistently dwelling in the desired condition, you shorten the space between intention and manifestation. Vigilance is not effort but alignment - you are already the I AM, simply choosing to be awake to it.
