Inner Vigil And Prayer

Mark 13:33 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 13 in context

Scripture Focus

33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
Mark 13:33

Biblical Context

Mark 13:33 invites constant vigilance and prayer, for the timing of events is unknown and depends on your inner state.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the reader, know that 'time' is a state of consciousness, not a clock. Take ye heed, watch and pray are invitations to dwell in the awake I AM. When you observe your inner weather—rising thoughts, shifting feelings, images that appear—you realize the future is created from within, by the state you choose to inhabit. You are not petitioning an absent deity; you are aligning with your own indwelling I AM and letting that awareness govern your mind. The hour comes as a natural fulfillment of the inner movement you sustain, not as a random event from without. Vigilance becomes a practice of constant inner custody: you notice without clinging, you revise by returning to the awareness you are, and you pray by dwelling in the presence that already knows. Therefore the promise of guidance and providence is the assurance that your inner state can be continually renewed, and your life flows from your most intimate assumption.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of unwavering awareness now and feel it real for a few minutes. When thoughts arise, revise them by returning to the I AM presence and imagine stepping into a scene governed by that awareness.
