Not Far From the Inner Kingdom

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus declares that loving one’s neighbor as oneself is the second great commandment, surpassing ritual offerings. The scribe acknowledges this truth, and Jesus says you are not far from the kingdom.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the reader, the command is not about compulsion but about an inner state. When you accept that there is one God, one life, one consciousness expressing as you and as your neighbor, you automatically awaken to love. The phrase love thy neighbor as thyself points to the self-evident truth: you love what you are in God. If you feel separation from another, you are only imagining a distance in awareness; dissolve that illusion by assuming a unity that already exists. The kingdom is not elsewhere; it is the felt proximity of your I AM to every face you meet. When Jesus says you are not far from the kingdom, he confirms your current state is the seed of this reality, awaiting your voluntary embracing of the truth. Practice shifting your inner weather from fear or judgment to recognizing the God-present neighbor as yourself in expression. As you hold this inner reverence, your outer world aligns with it, and the day becomes the living demonstration of the kingdom.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume the feeling of one life in God with your neighbor. Hold that unity for a minute and let it color your next interactions.
