Inner Monotheism in Mark 12:29

Mark 12:29 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 12 in context

Scripture Focus

29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mark 12:29

Biblical Context

Jesus states the foremost commandment: hear, O Israel. He proclaims that the Lord our God is one.

Neville's Inner Vision

To hear Israel is to awaken to the single I AM within your awareness. The Lord our God is not a distant ruler but the one presence living inside your heart and mind. Obedience is not external compliance but the steady alignment of your inner state with that unity. When you dwell on the truth that there is one Lord, every fraction of separation dissolves; the many voices that claim lack or fear are shadows on the wall of your awareness. The first commandment becomes a daily practice: affirm, feel, and imagine from the center of your being that you already belong to the One. In that imagination you revise any sense of separation by realizing you are the I AM looking through the illusion of multiplicity. Your worship then shifts from ritual to recognition: you worship by acknowledging unity, by letting your mind rest in that single presence, and by acting from that oneness in every choice.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, declare there is only One Lord within me—the I AM. Sit in that unity and revise any sense of separation until it feels real.
