Biblical Context
In Mark 12:15-17, Jesus distinguishes two loyalties: render to Caesar the things that belong to this world, and render to God the things that belong to God. The coin's image signals outer allegiance and inner devotion.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the penny in this scene becomes a symbol of your outer state, the image you wear in daily life. The question is not taxation but allegiance. When Jesus asks whose image the inscription bears, he invites you to notice the two kingdoms coexisting within: the Caesar-world of appearances and the God-state within, the I AM that never changes. Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's—manage outward duties and circumstances with clarity, without letting them define you. Render to God the things that are God's—your inner awareness, faith, and imaginative life. The hypocrisy on display reveals your own tendency to split, so you reveal your truth by where you focus your attention. Align your inner state with the God-I AM, and the outer world becomes a faithful mirror rather than a ruler over you. The key is to assume the God-state so completely that the outer image loses its grasp on your reality.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Assume you are already in the God-state now; feel that I AM presence and imagine the outward world harmonizing with it. Say softly, 'I render to God the things that are God's,' and let the feeling confirm the shift.
