Read Mark 1 in context

Scripture Focus

36And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.
37And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.
38And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.
Mark 1:36-38

Biblical Context

Simon and those with him follow Jesus; when they find him, they report that all men seek for thee. He responds by proposing to go to the next towns to preach, for that is why he came forth.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this passage, the speaker is your I AM, the conscious life that longs to express. When the disciples report that all men seek him, you are being shown that the world’s demand mirrors the call of your own inner Presence seeking outward expression. The 'next towns' symbolize further states of awareness you are invited to inhabit, not places on a map. To 'go' is to refuse limitation and to affirm, within, that the Kingdom of God is near wherever you choose to awaken it. The act of 'preaching there also' becomes the act of giving form to the truth that God dwells in you and through you; you express this presence through service, honest speech, and acts of love. The clause 'for therefore came I forth' declares the purpose of your being: your consciousness exists to manifest life, truth, and light in new arenas. Enter the practice with the conviction that you are sought because you are the living Presence, and let your next move be a conscious expansion of that Presence.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume the I AM is the presence sought by the world; revise 'All men seek for thee' to 'All men seek the Presence within me.' Then feel it real by closing your eyes and imagining one scene in which you express that Presence in a current situation you call 'town' of consciousness.
