Malachi 2:5-6

Biblical Context

Malachi 2:5-6 speaks of a covenant with life and peace for the priest, whose truth-telling and peaceful walk turn others away from wrongdoing.

Neville's Inner Vision

I enter the memory of the priest of Malachi as my inner state. The covenant is with me of life and peace, a fixed posture of consciousness I reverence with the fear that is love for the I AM. Not fear of punishment, but awe before the sacred Name that I acknowledge within. When the law of truth rests on my lips, my speech becomes a clear, honest instrument; there is no iniquity found in me because my thoughts and words echo the unity of God and man. I walk with the One I call Father in peace and equity, and in that walk I turn many away from iniquity not by judgment, but by the shining example of a life aligned with truth. The world conforms to the inner state; by feeling this covenant alive here and now, I realize that the outer conditions follow the inward order. I am the life and peace I sought, and others glimpse it by the radiance of my truthful, peaceful presence.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are the man of life and peace; say, I am the life and peace covenant. Feel the truth in your mouth and let peace walk with you, turning minds toward virtue.
