The Levi Covenant Within
Malachi 2:1-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Malachi 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage addresses the priests for failing to heed God's command, warning that their refusal to lay it to heart will bring curses and corruption to Levi's covenant. True priestly conduct is keeping knowledge and seeking the law, turning many away from iniquity.
Neville's Inner Vision
I see in this text the drama of your inner state. The warning is not addressed to external priests, but to the I AM within you—the mind that should guard the law and speak truth. When you refuse to hear and lay it to heart, you curse your own blessings, for your life follows your inner speech. The 'seed' they corrupt is the lineage of your thoughts and fears; the dung on their faces are the refuse of unexamined feasts of ego, which you must not wear. Levi represents the discipline of life and peace—anointing your consciousness with reverence for truth. The covenant with Levi is a covenant of fear before the name, a posture of integrity; the law of truth sits on his lips, so that he walks with God in peace and equity and turns many away from iniquity. Your lips should keep knowledge; you should seek the law at your mouth, for you are the messenger of the Lord of hosts. If you have departed, if you have been partial in the law, the remedy is to restore the inner Levi by choosing truth over appearance, life over ego, and by speaking the law to your world with purity.
Practice This Now
Sit in quiet and assume the Levi-state now: pronounce, 'I am the messenger of the Lord of hosts; my covenant is life and peace.' Feel the truth rise in your lips and walk with you as you speak only what aligns with truth, turning your world away from iniquity.
