Biblical Context
Malachi 2:1-4 speaks to the priests, warning that neglecting to hear and honor God will turn blessings into curses and threaten the covenant with Levi.
Neville's Inner Vision
Listen, for the commandment speaks to your inner priest. When you hear but do not lay it to heart, you deny the glory of your own I AM, and your experience mirrors a curse rather than a blessing. The 'name' you are called to glorify is the awareness that you are, and the act of honoring it reforms the direction of your life. The 'seed' to be corrupted is your future thought-forms and loves—not just outward offspring, but the patterns that shape your days. When you spread 'dung upon your faces' you cast the refuse of neglected devotion into the feast of life, and you drift away with the ceremony rather than the living reality. Yet the covenant with Levi is the promise that your inner priesthood remains intact when you repair your attentiveness. This commandment is sent that your inner covenant might be with Levi—the steadfast order of consciousness within. So, if you refuse to hear, you diminish your own altar; if you choose to hear and lay it to heart, you awaken the covenant and walk in the radiance of the I AM.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and declare, 'I hear and lay this to heart now.' Then feel the covenant as real by visualizing a bright inner altar of awareness, blessing all movements of thought and dissolving old curses.
