Read Malachi 1 in context

Scripture Focus

11For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.
Malachi 1:11

Biblical Context

Malachi 1:11 proclaims that God’s name will be honored from sunrise to sunset, everywhere, as incense and a pure offering are offered to the divine. It points to a universal worship that begins in consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here, 'God's name' is not a label but your state of I AM-consciousness. From the rising sun to the setting sun, the entire day becomes a ritual of keeping your awareness fixed on the presence that you are. The Gentiles and heathen are symbols for all who do not yet recognize this inner reality; when you affirm the unity of your being with the divine, that name is exalted wherever you go. The incense is the thoughts and feelings of reverence you continually offer in every moment; a pure offering is a pure, untroubled state of consciousness unscarred by fear or doubt. Neville would teach you to imagine that you already embody the divine presence and to feel it as real now. As you hold this assumption, the outer world rearranges to reflect it, and worship that begins within becomes the world you see without.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare: 'I am the Presence of God now.' Feel the boundaries of your ordinary self dissolve into awareness, then revise any sense of lack into fullness. Carry this feeling into every encounter today.
