Inner Judgment and Grace

Luke 7:39 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 7 in context

Scripture Focus

39Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
Luke 7:39

Biblical Context

The Pharisee privately condemns the woman, assuming Jesus would know her sin. The scene exposes the danger of judgment cloaked in piety and invites a shift to mercy.

Neville's Inner Vision

Luke 7:39 shows a Pharisee skimming the surface of appearances while the true judge sits within. The sinner he points to is not a distant woman; it is the condition of his own consciousness. The 'prophet' he doubts is the inner I AM—the undying awareness that knows no sin in its own light. The grace Jesus represents is not earned by ritual but awakened by a revised state of mind. When you assume the consciousness that says 'I am mercy,' you no longer label another; you witness the eternal purity already present in the scene. The outward touching of the woman's hand becomes a symbol of the touch of inner awareness upon fear and blame. Your task is to inhabit the state of forgiveness now, not to seek it in others. Then the Pharisee’s self-justifying thoughts dissolve, and you stand in the same grace Jesus embodies. Remember: you are the I AM, and every judgment collapses when you revise your inner assumption to one of unconditional love.

Practice This Now

Choose a person you habitually judge. Revise your state to, 'I am the I AM, perceiving this soul through grace,' and feel forgiveness as if it already is true; then release blame and bless them.
