Preparing The Way Within

Luke 7:27-28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 7 in context

Scripture Focus

27This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
28For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
Luke 7:27-28

Biblical Context

Luke 7:27-28 presents John the Baptist as the promised forerunner. Yet within the Kingdom of God, the least aware of the I AM is greater than any outward prophet.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within every life, the line 'this is he' points to your own inner messenger—your present imagination—that goes before you and clears the ground for what you desire. John is not a distant man, but the archetype of the forerunner you already carry: the thought preceding the event, the feeling preceding the fact. The Kingdom of God is not a future place but a state of consciousness you inhabit now. The claim that the least in the Kingdom is greater than the greatest prophet reveals a startling law: once you acknowledge the Kingdom as your inner reality, your small, faithful assumption can outshine outer signs. Do not seek salvation by works or by prophets outside; you are the one in whom God is present and active. The messenger you need is your own imagination, the aura of I AM that goes before your experiences. When you dwell in the feeling of the wish fulfilled, you shift the inner weather and open the path for miracles to appear in form.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine a thoughtful messenger walking ahead of you into your day, clearing every obstacle; then sink into the feeling that your wish has already been realized, and declare, I AM the way prepared.
