Arise Within Luke 7 Resurrection

Luke 7:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 7 in context

Scripture Focus

14And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
15And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
Luke 7:14-15

Biblical Context

Jesus touches the bier, commands the dead man to arise, and he sits up and speaks; this scene points to inner restoration and life breaking into consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Luke 7:14-15 speaks of a man dead in body, but in Neville's fashion, the 'dead' state is a consciousness convinced of lack. The touch of the bier is a sudden, decisive use of attention by the I AM upon a belief. The word Arise is not a command to a corpse but an act of revision: in your present moment you insist that the life that you seek is already born in your inner state. The bearers are the witnesses of your old habits; when they stand still, it is your inner awareness that permits the shift. The resurrection is not a future event but a present remembrance of life: the man sits up and is delivered to his mother—the inner nurturing power that cares for your new self. By repeating the act in imagination, you reverse the gut instinct of death with a vivid sense of life, and you hand that life to your higher self and your daily world as a healed, restored you.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place your attention on the bier of old limitation, and say Arise; feel the life awaken within and deliver it to your I AM, the nurturing inner mother.
