Biblical Context
Luke 5:21-24 shows scribes questioning who can forgive sins, and Jesus answering and healing to prove his authority. The passage points to forgiveness as a state of consciousness that manifests as outer healing.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider this scene as a map of your inner life. The scribes' murmur—Who can forgive sins but God alone?—is your own old chorus of limitation. Jesus, sensing their thoughts, does not beg for approval; he speaks from the I AM that you are: What reason ye in your hearts? He then states a principle: it is easier to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee, than Rise up and walk, yet the latter proves the former. The power to forgive is not separate from the power to move; the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins, therefore your inner state can release the body from paralytic belief. When he tells the sick man, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house, he guides you to carry a renewed sense of self into your daily life. The miracle is a demonstration that consciousness creates form; forgiveness is the foundation of healing, and healing is the lived I AM in action.
Practice This Now
Assume the state: I am forgiven by my I AM. Feel it-real by picturing yourself rising, taking up your couch, and walking into your own home of awareness.
