Inner Mission Of The Kingdom
Luke 4:43 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Luke 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus declares a mission to preach the kingdom of God to other cities. The key is that this outward activity flows from an internal state.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Luke 4:43, the Master reveals a sacred law: the work of the I AM presses outward because I am sent. The 'I' is not a man's ego, but awareness itself, the very living consciousness you call I. To preach the kingdom is to declare a new state of being as the governing principle of your life. The cities mentioned are metaphorical regions of mind where fear, lack, or limitation have held sway. When you hear 'other cities,' hear other chambers of your awareness waiting for the government of your inner king. The mission is not to convert a multitude but to awaken your own inner witness to a reality that already exists in you. By accepting that the kingdom is present now, and that you are sent to extend it, you turn absence into fullness. Your daily deeds then spring from a single, confident presencing: the state you dwell in in imagination becomes your outward world.
Practice This Now
Assume now that you are preaching the kingdom in fresh 'cities' of your life; feel the air of certainty, see yourself as the one sent. In the next moment, revise any lack into abundance by silently declaring 'I am the kingdom now' and dwell in that feeling.
