Read Luke 3 in context

Scripture Focus

1Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,
2Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
Luke 3:1-2

Biblical Context

Luke 3:1-2 lists rulers and priests, then states that the Word of God comes to John in the wilderness.

Neville's Inner Vision

All the names—rulers, governors, tetrarchs, high priests—are but the surface script of the waking world. In the Neville Goddard frame, they are states of consciousness, not people arbitrarily exerting power. The 'Word of God' coming to John is the living I AM, a clear movement of awareness that arrives in the wilderness—the neutral space inside where old beliefs have not yet claimed you. The wilderness is not a barren place but a quiet field of potential where truth may be spoken. When the Word comes, it is not an event imposed from without; it is a shift in your inner state, a revelation that the kingdom of meaning is within and that you, as the I AM, are the one who awakens it. The hour, the office, the genealogy—all outer forms—confirm only how you once believed reality operated. Now, through this inner visitation, you understand that your awareness creates, preserves, and expresses itself as life. So align with that Word; imagine it arriving in you, and let your inner John proclaim the path that leads you home to your true self.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, breathe, and repeat, 'The Word of God comes to me now; I am the I AM awake.' Feel the presence of that Word in the center of your mind until believing it becomes natural.
