The Inner Presence of Peace
Luke 24:36 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Luke 24 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus materializes among the disciples and offers them peace, illustrating that the divine presence is always within consciousness, ready to quell inner fear. In Neville's view, this peace is not external but an inner state to be consciously assumed.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Luke 24:36, the standing in the midst is your own awareness stepping into the centre of your thoughts. The disciples have been speaking about events, yet the moment Jesus enters is the moment your I AM arrives as the living present. Peace be unto you is not a message to others but a command to your own mind: assume peace and you will awaken to the Resurrection and New Life already resident in you. In Neville's terms, God is your I AM; the appearances in the outer world echo the state you accept within. When you claim Peace, you halt the mental chatter, and the risen Presence floods your awareness, transforming fear, doubt, and separation into unity. The room becomes a sanctuary where the Self stands in the middle, and you realize that the power to heal, to reconcile, and to renew is your own consciousness. Therefore, the event is not historical distance but a shift in state: you shift from identification with lack to identification with the I AM, and the peace that follows is your natural birthright.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state I AM peace here now. Feel the Presence stand in the center of your mind and let the words Peace be with me set the tone of your awareness.
