Read Luke 24 in context

Scripture Focus

33And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
Luke 24:33-35

Biblical Context

Two disciples on the road return and tell the others that the Lord is risen and has appeared to Peter. They recount what happened on the journey and how He was made known in the breaking of bread.

Neville's Inner Vision

The risen Lord is not a past event but the I AM awakening within; the 'same hour' they rose implies a snap decision to wake from the old dream and enter communion with the present. The gathering of the eleven and those with them represents the unified state of awareness that recognizes truth when it appears to 'Simon'—the sense of a separate self now seen as one with God. The report of what occurred along the road is the inner movement of thoughts and feelings when you rehearse a new state; the road is your imagination journey, and 'breaking of bread' is the inward act of communion—consuming, assimilating, and becoming one with the perception that God is always here. When you acknowledge the risen Lord within, events align to confirm your new state; you 'know' Him in the breaking of bread as nourishment and presence.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling, 'I AM risen now' and dwell in it until it is vivid; then imagine sharing with your inner circle what has occurred, and let the 'breaking of bread' symbolize inner communion and nourishment.
