Inner Entry of Kingship

Luke 19:28-35 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 19 in context

Scripture Focus

28And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
29And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
30Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
31And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
32And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.
33And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
34And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
35And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
Luke 19:28-35

Biblical Context

Jesus moves toward Jerusalem as an inward act of preparation for spiritual kingship; the colt represents unused energy released by faith and obedience. The inner drama shows how the I AM uses what is unused in you to express its sovereignty.

Neville's Inner Vision

Luke’s ascent to Jerusalem is an inner ascent of consciousness. The colt, never ridden, stands for fresh energy within your mind that awaits the sanction of the I AM. What binds it is not moral, but belief; loosing the colt is the release of limitation by the inner decree that the Lord hath need of him. The two disciples symbolize faculties of action and surrender, already guided by an inner plan that aligns with your true nature. Casting garments on the colt represents clothing the energy with faith, removing doubt, and consecrating the instrument for sacred use. When Jesus is set upon the colt, consciousness rides into the city of awareness, fulfilling the inner prophecy that the Kingdom of God is within. This story is not history alone, but a practical map: obedience, trust, and imagination collectively awaken the royal sense of self. The outer event mirrors your inner decision to enthrone the I AM, and to allow the divine to express through your chosen vessel.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, imagine approaching a colt in a village near your inner Mount of Olives; say, 'The Lord hath need of him' and feel the release of energy as you loosen him. Then visualize Jesus mounting and riding your inner Jerusalem, and feel the kingdom within becoming real.
