Read Luke 17 in context

Scripture Focus

20And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Luke 17:20-21

Biblical Context

Jesus says the kingdom won't come by observation; it is within you as a present inner reality of consciousness. It's not found in external signs or places.

Neville's Inner Vision

Jesus redirects the seekers from the habit of searching the sky for a coming kingdom to the simple fact that the kingdom of God is the living state of consciousness within. It is not observed by the eye that looks outward, nor found in any external sign or place. The kingdom is within you, now, as your own awareness. When I assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled, I am not begging fortune from a distant heaven; I am reconstituting my inner state until it matches the reality I desire. Imagination, rightly employed, becomes the causal power by which events in the world are formed. Therefore, cultivate a persistent inner conviction: I am the I AM, and the kingdom is present in this breathing moment. Observe no longer for the kingdom to appear in external form; dwell in the inner certainty and allow your external circumstances to reflect that inner state.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, place a hand on your chest, and declare the kingdom of God is within me. Then dwell in the feeling of the wish fulfilled until it feels real now.
