Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus notes that ten were cleansed, yet only one returns to give thanks. The story, at its heart, is about gratitude awakening faith and true wholeness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the Luke account, the cleansing is a change of inner weather, not a mere outward cure. The ten lepers stand as ten facets of your consciousness touched by grace; yet most forget to acknowledge the Source and turn away. The one who returns embodies gratitude—the state of awareness that names God as I AM and returns to the Source with praise. Gratitude is not supply-seeking; it is the renewal of recognition that God is your reality, and in that recognition your sense of separation dissolves. When you affirm 'I AM' and give glory within, you are not begging for healing but admitting it has already happened in you. The phrase 'thy faith hath made thee whole' points to faith as present and operative, a living alignment of belief, feeling, and attention with your true self. The other nine remain in old stories of lack; the stranger returns and is made whole because his inner worship has awakened. So you, too, become whole when gratitude becomes your primary state of awareness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, assume you are the grateful one who returns. Feel your wholeness as already given, and softly declare, 'I am made whole.'
