Luke's scene is not a history lesson but a map of the inner king on your throne. The 'ten thousand' are your available thoughts, habits, and feelings that you align in one direction; the 'twenty thousand' are the lingering fears and restless patterns that seem to outnumber you. When you inquire within, you realize you are always choosing which army you believe you can command. The moment you identify with the I AM—the sole sovereign awareness—your capacity to meet any 'enemy' grows, not by outward force but by a transformed state. If your present state cannot sustain victory over the imagined foe, you do not storm the battlements; you dispatch an ambassador—your inner self—to seek peace by revising the situation in imagination. The act of sending peace is a revision of interpretation: you acknowledge that the kingdom of God is within, and the only war is a war of perception. By assuming a victorious, peaceful consciousness, you align the ten thousand with the tireless, loving force of the I AM, and what seemed like war becomes wholeness.
