Read Luke 14 in context

Scripture Focus

10But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
11For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Luke 14:10-11

Biblical Context

Luke 14:10-11 teaches that true honor comes from humility—choose the lowest seat and be invited up; pride leads to abasement.

Neville's Inner Vision

Who is the 'you' in this parable? It is your I AM listening in the interior chamber of consciousness. When you refuse the top seat and take the lowest chair in imagination, you are signaling to your inner host that greatness is not a position, but a disposition. The host then whispers, 'Friend, go up higher,' and your awareness ascends into a room where true communion with the divine Presence is felt. Humility is not servility; it is the recognition that you are already the I AM, and every outward ranking is only a mirror of your inner decision. When you anchor yourself in the least likely seat, you remove the ego's noise and let the Christ within direct the scene. Exaltation, then, is not earned from others’ applause but realized as your sense of self expands in the awareness of God in you. Your body may still sit in a chair, yet your mind is elevated to the recognition that you stand before the Father, fully seen and fully revered in your own consciousness.

Practice This Now

Sit in the lowest room now in imagination; feel the host invite you to rise and receive exaltation in consciousness.
