Luke 13:11

Biblical Context

Luke 13:11 tells of a woman with a spirit of infirmity who was bowed for eighteen years and could not lift herself. This is a symbolic record of inner bondage and the need for liberation through awakening.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville, the woman's bowing is not a medical condition but a state of consciousness that has forgotten its I AM. The spirit of infirmity symbolizes a fixed belief that one cannot lift, rise, or stand in the truth of being. Jesus’ act of healing is the moment the consciousness refuses the compulsion to bend and asserts the I AM as the sole reality. In this light, the eighteen years represent a pattern of thought that has hardened into identity. Healing does not come from external hands but from a deliberate act of assumption: that you are already upright, unbound, and guided by the I AM within. When you persist in that assumption and feel it as real, the inner posture shifts, and the body must follow. The reader is invited to practice the same: revise the ruling belief, dwell in the feeling of steadfastness, and let awareness carry you into a fresh sense of whole, light, and freedom.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and stand as if you are erect, hands on your back, and feel the lift as though the I AM is holding you upright. Repeat, 'I AM upright now,' revising any belief of limitation until the feeling of freedom remains.
