Nearness of the Kingdom

Luke 10:10-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 10 in context

Scripture Focus

10But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
11Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
12But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
Luke 10:10-12

Biblical Context

Jesus tells the disciples that if a city rejects them, they should dust off their feet and declare that the kingdom of God is near.

Neville's Inner Vision

Into every city you enter, a state of consciousness is invited. When you are not welcomed, the event is not a judgment on you but a signal that you have wandered into a portion of your own mind still clinging to separation. The dust you wipe off is not a sign of failure, but a symbol that you are free to leave the old surface and return to your true I AM—the awareness that never leaves you. The kingdom of God, here—nevertheless near you—must be felt, not argued about. To be near is to have a reality in your own inner weather. If you imagine yourself unwelcomed, you are simply observing the old self’s resistances dissolve as you assume the crown of your true identity. Reframe the experience: I am the I AM; I am near; the kingdom is not coming, it is already present in awareness.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling that the kingdom is near you now; when faced with rejection, revise in your mind: 'The kingdom is near me.' Then feel the presence within as you move through your day.
