Read Luke 1 in context

Scripture Focus

65And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.
66And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.
Luke 1:65-66

Biblical Context

Fear fell on all who dwelt nearby, and rumors spread as people wondered what sort of child this would be. The verse concludes that the hand of the Lord was with him.

Neville's Inner Vision

Fear and rumor in Luke 1:65–66 are not external troubles, but the tremor of a new state of consciousness awakening in you. The people hear the reports, they store the sayings in their hearts, and ask, What manner of child shall this be? In Neville’s sense, that question marks the birth of a surprising possibility authorized by your inner I AM. The awe that realises the hand of the Lord with him is the inner assurance that your present consciousness is already in harmony with the fulfilled idea. When you imagine a future outcome as if it existed now, you stabilize the impression that the child is born, and fear recedes as the mind accepts the truth of the vision. The "hill country" becomes your inner field where conviction travels and rumor fades into the background noise of the old self. By choosing a state of imaginal certainty, you enact the inner visitation that the text signals: God with you, now, as you dwell in the feeling of the wish fulfilled.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume the wish fulfilled now. Close your eyes, feel the presence of the fulfilled outcome as real, and let awe replace fear for a few minutes.
