Fear Not, Found Favor Within

Luke 1:29-30 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 1 in context

Scripture Focus

29And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
Luke 1:29-30

Biblical Context

Mary is troubled by the greeting. The angel tells her to fear not, for she has found favor with God.

Neville's Inner Vision

Mary represents the inner posture of consciousness awaiting a new idea. Her brief tremor at the salutation reveals that a fresh state is arising within mind, not a distant occurrence. The angelic message, 'Fear not,' invites you to awaken to the state you already are: you have found favor with God—the I AM within you. Fear surfaces when you imagine separation between your life and the divine source; the mind’s question, 'What manner of salutation is this?' is simply hesitation before adopting a new assumption. Favor with God denotes alignment with the living, divine life inside you—a grace that dissolves worry and invites mercy, compassion, and steady guidance. In this inner economy, Providence moves as you revise the feeling: from fear to calm, from lack to abundance, from doubt to trust. The holiness of separation yields to intimate union with your Source. Your act of remaining in this assumed state is your faith in the revelation you already hold, and it will reflect outwardly as your life conforms to that inner certainty.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and repeat, 'I am favored with God,' and feel the relief wash through you as fear dissolves. Let guidance rise as you settle into that state.
