Biblical Context
Leviticus 8:25-29 describes Aaron's consecration rites, including the wave offering of fat and bread, followed by Moses burning parts of the offering and presenting the breast as a wave offering.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this scene the rites are not merely outward acts but inner movements of consciousness. The fat and bread symbolize thoughts and feelings gathered into a single act of devotion, while the waving of hands before the LORD represents your decision to align with the I AM, not with outward results. When Moses takes and waves these portions, you are learning to consecrate your present state by burning away former selffashionings in the fire of awareness, letting a new state rise as a sweet savour in the mind that is God. The right shoulder and the ram’s breast become your personal portions of power you claim by faith. Holiness, then, is a choice of inner posture: to stand in the LORD’s presence by an unwavering awareness. As you imagine that wave rising from your hands, you participate in the presence of God by choosing to be governed from within, by the I AM.
Practice This Now
Assume the role of Aaron for a moment; in imagination, place your hands on your heart and wave the offering of gratitude and faith before the LORD, feeling the I AM present now. Hold that feeling as real and let it settle as your new state.
