Inner Feast of Purity

Leviticus 7:22-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Leviticus 7 in context

Scripture Focus

22And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
23Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall eat no manner of fat, of ox, or of sheep, or of goat.
24And the fat of the beast that dieth of itself, and the fat of that which is torn with beasts, may be used in any other use: but ye shall in no wise eat of it.
25For whosoever eateth the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off from his people.
26Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings.
27Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
Leviticus 7:22-27

Biblical Context

Leviticus 7:22-27 forbids consuming fat and blood, establishing a boundary for holiness and communal integrity. It warns that violating this law cuts one off from the people.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the Lord speaking to Moses as a call to the inner kitchen of your consciousness. Fat and blood are not merely foods; they are symbols of habitual states that feed the false self. Fat represents the heavy, self-satisfied energy of attachments, pride, and indulgence that dull the light of awareness. To consume such energy is to nourish a mode of living ruled by appetite rather than by the I AM that you truly are. Blood stands for life-force energized by fear, reaction, and neediness—movements of the mind that seek control and status in the world of appearances. When the text says do not eat these, it is teaching you to withhold your inner diet from lower motions and to keep your mind clear for higher offerings. The turning away of the soul means you are not shedding your substance to the old self but choosing to live by a different law—the fire of consciousness that purifies and transfigures. The ritual posture thus points to your daily practice: align with the one real life within you and offer everything that keeps you tethered to separation, hunger, and fear. In this light, the kingdom is a state of disciplined awareness rather than a collection of rules.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, take a slow breath, and assume the feeling that you are the I AM, the aware life within you. Revise any old craving by affirming I eat only that which nourishes my divine self; I am the light that feeds on life.
