Inner Elders Lay the Sacrifice

Leviticus 4:15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Leviticus 4 in context

Scripture Focus

15And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before the LORD: and the bullock shall be killed before the LORD.
Leviticus 4:15

Biblical Context

The elders lay their hands on the bullock, signaling a transfer of responsibility; the bullock is then slain before the LORD.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your consciousness, the elders are the higher states—the I AM—that place hands on the bullock, the lower self. The bullock stands for fear, habit, and the impulse of the ego you call to let go. When the elders lay hands, you grant the higher self the charge over the lower self, acknowledging it as the instrument through which life, not death, is accomplished in you. The killing of the bullock is the symbolic moment when the old pattern is released from your awareness, not from without. In Neville’s terms, you are not changing God’s law but discovering who you are: the I AM, the reality that never changes. Atonement occurs as you realize that the apparent guilt or lack is a belief within your consciousness, already forgiven by the divine Presence that you are. By this inner act, you align your inner state with the truth of abundance, harmony, and purification, and your outer world will begin to reflect that new state as you imagine it and dwell in it.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Sit quietly, visualize the elders laying hands on the head of your lower self, feel the release, and silently affirm, 'I AM, the I AM.' Rest in the sense that the old self dies and a higher life begins now.
