Neville's Inner Vision

Within the verse, the LORD’s instruction to Moses is an invitation to the inner man. The LORD who speaks is your I AM, calling you to supply the light of awareness. 'Pure oil beaten' signifies purified consciousness—oil refined by steady, attentive focus, free of dullness and unworthy desires. To 'cause the lamps to burn continually' means sustaining an uninterrupted state of wakefulness, a constant flame of thought and feeling nourished by disciplined faith. The temple becomes your inner sanctuary where the Presence of God resides as light. This command shows worship as active alignment, not ritual passivity: you choose the oil you feed your inner flame. Purity and holiness arise as the condition of your inner life, a separation from distracting thoughts and impulses into the single flame of awareness. When you assume this reality—oil refined by love and intention—you will experience your inner lamp shining without interruption, revealing that true worship is the awakening of consciousness to its own light.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and imagine pouring pure olive oil into the lamp of your mind until the flame burns steadily. Whisper 'I AM' and feel the continuous light as your natural state for the next minute.
