Scripture Focus

17Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.
18And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the LORD.
19Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
20And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
21And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

Biblical Context

Leviticus 23:17-21 prescribes two wave loaves of firstfruits accompanied by offerings, and culminates in a holy convocation. No servile work is to be done that day.

Neville's Inner Vision

Close your eyes and hear the rhythm of the altar as a metaphor for your inner life. The two wave loaves are two aspects of your consciousness—the seed and its release—baked with leaven, a sign that growth is alive within you when you attend to imagination. These loaves, being firstfruits unto the LORD, declare that your highest self recognizes and consecrates your desires as sacred. The seven lambs, the bullock, and the two rams are the qualities you offer to your inner I AM—gratitude, integrity, courage, patience, and joy—rising to the divine heat of awareness as an offering made by fire, a sweet savour to the Lord of your life. The sin offering and peace offerings point to purging false beliefs and inviting peace into your heart, while the priest waving them with the bread denotes your inner attention moving these truths through your being. This wave offering before the LORD is the decision of inner recognition: holiness is not prophecy outside you, but your daily recommitment. And the holy convocation—no servile work—invites you to rest in the awareness that you are the I AM, timeless and sovereign in your world.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, assume the feeling of your desire fulfilled; picture two loaves in your hands, wave them before the I AM within, and rest in that reality for a few breaths. Repeat daily until it feels natural.
