Inner Boundaries of Holiness
Leviticus 21:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Leviticus 21 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Leviticus 21:5 lays out outward restraints on appearance as a sign of holiness and separation.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of holiness not as external ritual but as a state of consciousness you inhabit. The forbidding of baldness, beard trimming, and flesh markings points to guarding the integrity of your I AM. When you imagine yourself under these symbols you are teaching your mind to treat the body as the garment of your divine state, not a canvas for fear or fashion. The true law is the law of your inner condition: you are already complete, and any attempt to alter appearance is an unconscious belief in lack. By turning attention from outward forms to the I AM you align with a single unchanging reality: you are holiness expressed as consciousness. The body then mirrors that state, not by obeying a ritual, but reflecting steadiness, cleanliness of desire, and fidelity to your true nature. In this view obedience becomes faithfulness to the present I AM, not submission to external fashion.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume you are the I AM now; revise any sense of incompleteness by declaring, I AM whole, unaltered, and complete. Feel it real in your body and watch your outer expression harmonize with that inner truth.
