Inner Statutes, Inner Land

Leviticus 18:26-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Leviticus 18 in context

Scripture Focus

26Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
27(For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)
Leviticus 18:26-27

Biblical Context

Both native and stranger are to keep the statutes and avoid abominations. The 'land' represents the mind, and its condition reflects your inner obedience and alignment.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your I AM is the only reality; Leviticus 18:26-27 asks you to claim an inner statute that governs every part of consciousness. The 'native' and the 'stranger that sojourneth among you' are within you—the familiar ego and the newer impulses—that must be united under one awareness. When you persist in this inner law, the land—the mind—ceases to be defiled by fear, judgment, or separation, because you refuse to yield to stray states. There is no external realm of law; all appearances reflect your current state of consciousness. The universal law applies to all parts of you until their discord dissolves into harmony. By treating this inner order as real and personal, you align with unity and power, and life conforms to the quality you sustain. Holiness becomes practical: you revise, you feel, you live from present awareness, and your world unfolds in accord with the inner order you maintain.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of the I AM that keeps these statutes. For a few minutes, revise any urge to condemn as, 'I am whole and holy now,' and feel that unity as your immediate reality.
