Biblical Context
Leviticus 1:10-13 describes bringing a blemish-free male from the flocks, having priests prepare and burn it on the altar as a fragrant offering. It points to an inner devotion and a standard of purity in worship.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture the Leviticus scene as a living map of consciousness. The flock represents parts of your mind you are willing to bring into a state of pure life before the I AM. The blemishless male is your decision to stand as intact awareness, unshadowed by fear or doubt. The killing at the altar and the sprinkling of blood become inner acts of acknowledgement and release—awareness moving around every thought, cleansing the inward pathways, and paving the way for a fresh initiation. When the pieces are laid on the wood and burned, you are rehearsing a continuous revision: you consent to burn away old identifications, habits, and grievances that obstruct your present sense of unity. The washing of the inner parts is the mind’s willingness to be cleansed by the perception that God is within, and the sweet savour is the moment you sense that your life is a pleasing offering to the I AM. In this view, ritual is not distant ceremony but the daily practice of becoming what you already are in consciousness.
Practice This Now
Practice: sit quietly, embody the state 'I AM' as the one unblemished self; mentally place your whole life on the inner altar, declare 'I am purified by consciousness,' and feel the inner fire refining you into harmony.
