Lamentations 4:22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Lamentations 4 in context

Scripture Focus

22The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins.
Lamentations 4:22

Biblical Context

The verse declares that the punishment for Zion’s sins is complete and she will no longer be carried into captivity; it also says Edom will have its sins revealed.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this Neville reading, the scripture becomes a map of inner life. The punishment being accomplished is not a future judgment but the end of a belief that I am separated from my I AM. Zion represents the inner state of divine consciousness; exile is the habit of feeling deprived. When I acknowledge that the I AM is my true reality, the outer captivity cannot persist. The clause about visiting iniquity and discovering sins is the inner process by which awareness reveals hidden beliefs, not a coming doom. God is simply awareness shining on my mind, dissolving the false thoughts I clung to. The end of exile arrives the moment I stop identifying with lack and rest in the truth that I am complete here and now. Practically, I can revise by assuming the end has come and dwelling in the feeling of freedom, letting imagination reveal the return to peace within my inner kingdom.

Practice This Now

Assume the end now by stating I AM free and dwelling in the feeling of complete peace; place a hand on your chest and let the sense of captivity dissolve.
