Scripture Focus

56Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
57Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
Lamentations 3:56-57

Biblical Context

God hears my voice and draws near when I call. The message is to fear not and rest in the presence that answers.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner sense, the verses declare that the cry is not external and distant but a movement of consciousness toward its own fullness. When you say Thou hast heard my voice, you awaken to the listener within you, the I AM that never sleeps. The breathing and cry are signs of a state of mind, and God is the awareness that attends to that state. Calling upon God is a revision of your inner situation, a turning toward the presence that you already are. The day you call is the moment you become aware of the nearness you have always possessed. Fear not is the restoration of confidence in the self as presence, not a command from a distant power. Thus every petition is an act of imagination returning you to the truth that you are heard, protected, and held by the very principle you call God. Feed this awareness, and peace follows as your natural state.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and breathe in rhythm with your quiet inner cry. Assume you are heard by the I AM and feel the presence drawing near; repeat I am heard until fear yields to calm.
