The passage states that God's mercies never fail and renew each morning, with the soul trusting in the Lord as its portion and source of hope.
Neville's Inner Vision
I tell you, the words are not external command but an invitation to remember who you are. The LORD's mercies are the living states of consciousness that prevent your being consumed by appearances. They fail not because your inner nature remains constant in the I AM. When the verse says they are new every morning, hear it as a mental dawn—a fresh revision you welcome into your mind, a renewal of imagination that clears yesterday's doubts. To say 'The LORD is my portion' is to declare that your consciousness rests in the I AM as sufficient, not in 'things.' Your hope, then, is a habit of attention—a decision to trust that your inner God-state is constant, even when appearances contradict it. Dwell in the feeling of the wish fulfilled: you are always supported; faithfulness is the texture of your awareness. The world you see is the outward sign of your inner state; adjust the state, and the scenery follows. Your obedience is to the sovereignty of your consciousness.
Practice This Now
Tonight, close your eyes and affirm: 'The Lord is my portion; I am the I AM; mercies renew me every morning.' Feel the truth of this in your chest and let it settle as your new pattern.
