Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse asks passers-by to acknowledge the speaker's unparalleled sorrow, claimed as the consequence of the LORD's fierce anger. It presents suffering as the outward signal of a felt judgment.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this cry you are hearing a state of consciousness longing to be seen. The 'passers-by' are the passing thoughts of your mind; the piercing question Is it nothing to you? is your own habit of indifference to your inner life. The sorrow described is not a remote event; it is the energy you have given to a belief that you are afflicted, separated from the One I AM within. The 'LORD' who hath afflicted me becomes the projection of your own inner conviction that some force outside your awareness has power over you. In Neville's terms, God is not outside, but the I AM you identify with. The fierce anger is the intensity of the old assumption - that something must be punished or withheld from you. To heal, change your assumption to a revision that the I AM within is your sole governor, and you stand in a state of completeness now. Feel the truth of being beloved, forgiven, and whole. With that feeling, the appearance of sorrow dissolves as you realign with the inner kingdom that never left you.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, place your attention on the I AM within, and revise your stance from punishment to possibility. Then feel the emotion of the wish fulfilled now: I AM loved, I AM complete, I AM free.
