Judges 5:12

Biblical Context

Deborah and Barak are urged to awaken and rise, and to lead a victory over captivity. The scene invites inner liberation through action and song.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the reader, Deborah is the awakened aspect of your self calling to Barak, the will, to stand up against bondage in the current state of consciousness. Awake now to your true I AM. The captivity is any belief that you are separate, fearful, or limited. The song is your imaginal act—imagine and feel the victorious vibration as if it already happened. By uttering a song you give form to an inner decree, a new mood that asserts dominion over past conditions. Lead thy captivity captive means you invite your former thoughts to follow your leading and be transformed by the higher self's rule. This is prophecy and promise: the inner decree aligns with God in you, and the outer world follows as a dream obeys the dreamer. Use discernment to distinguish the old fear from the new state you assume. Keep your attention on the I AM and the feeling of freedom now. You are not waiting; you are awakening.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and dwell in the feeling of freedom. Then declare, 'I am awake now; I lead my captivity captive' and stay with that assurance for a minute.
