Biblical Context
A trumpet call sets a turning point, and the people descend to confront their foe. Through obedience and faith, the land is restfully at peace afterward.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your waking story is the trumpet on the mount. When you imagine from the I AM, all your so-called enemies—doubt, lack, fear—are turned into the fords of Jordan you pass with ease. The Moabites represent limitation, but deliverance is not an external event; it is a state of consciousness you must own. By following the inner command, you descend from elevation and take the path of action from the sense that the Lord hath delivered them into your hand. Each step forward is a revision of lack into abundance, each breath a renewal of faith. The supposed victory over others becomes a victory over your own stubborn imagination, replacing resistance with rest. The eighty years of rest described in the text is your constant inner peace that remains when you refuse to define yourself by appearances. Rest is the natural condition of the embodied I AM when it asserts its sovereignty and faith in the unseen victory already won within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, stand with the mountain behind you, and blow the trumpet of awareness. Say softly, 'I AM delivers all my enemies into my hand'; then imagine crossing the Jordan and resting in a lasting peace today.
