Biblical Context
Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
Judges 3:12 speaks not to external politics but to the inner weather of consciousness. The 'Israelites' symbolize a state of mind that believes itself separated from God; their 'evil' is a pattern of thought that reinforces fear and lack. When that inner state persists in belief, the mind 'strengthens' the image of an opposing force—Eglon—so the outer world aligns with the narrative of oppression. The divine action here is not punitive but clarifying: your inner picture has power to call forth any outer circumstance that confirms it. To awaken, you must revise from within, claiming the I AM as your permanent, present reality and feeling that truth until it becomes your experience. In that felt-real alignment, the imagined foe dissolves and your life reveals a freer flow of imagination, a wholeness that remains regardless of appearances.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise: I am the I AM, and there is no separation from divine wholeness. Feel that truth as real now, and dedicate yourself to restoring the inner image of strength over any perceived foe.
