Biblical Context
Joshua leads the people to inherit the land, and they faithfully serve the LORD during his life and the elders' lifetimes; after Joshua dies and is buried, the era quietly ends.
Neville's Inner Vision
Joshua's era in the outer story is your inner state of steadfastness. The people serve the LORD all the days of Joshua and the elders who saw the great works are the memory of the I AM in expression, reminding you that faithfulness endures as long as you remain aware of God within. When Joshua dies, the land to possess remains, and this burial marks a transition in consciousness, not a loss of authority. In Neville's psychology, you are always the I AM, and every figure—leader, elder, or successor—represents a maintained state of attention. The inner possession (the land) is not handed down by a man but radiated by your own assumption that the I AM is the constant governor of your life. Thus the transition you fear is merely an inward shift of trust: you acknowledge that the I AM has always led you, and you revise any sense of dependence on a former persona. Worship becomes obedience of feeling and alignment with the I AM here and now; true loyalty is fidelity to consciousness, not ritual performance.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM is the leader within you; see Joshua passing the staff of guidance to your inner self and feel the land of your inward nature becoming yours in this moment.
