Inner Judgment to Deliverance
Judges 2:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Judges 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage portrays God's anger as turning Israel over to their enemies, causing them to be distressed and unable to stand before them.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember, the 'Lord' here is your I AM, the living awareness that you are. When you read that the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel and that they were delivered into the hands of spoilers, interpret it as the fiery resistance of a thought that has made you identify with lack and limitation. In Neville's language, you are not at the mercy of a distant punishment, but under the sway of a belief you entertained in your own consciousness. The enemies around them are not external tyrants but the images your mind has conjured from fear; wherever they go, the hand of the LORD against them corresponds to a mental posture that cannot stand in the light of true being. Great distress follows as the old state clings to you, until you realize that the one who suffers is the I AM in you, and that this awareness can revise the story. The way out is to assume a different state, to feel as if you are already free, and to dwell in the sense that your core is invincible, not at the mercy of what seems to oppress you.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I am the I AM. I am free now.' Then revise the scene in your mind, sensing the distress dissolve as you affirm your inherent wholeness.
