Forsaken Gods, Found Within
Judges 2:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
They abandoned the LORD their God and worshiped the nearby peoples' gods, bowing to Baal and Ashtaroth; this idolatry provoked the LORD's anger.
Neville's Inner Vision
Judges 2:12-13 presents a drama of forsaking the LORD and courting 'the gods of the people round about.' But in Neville's key, this drama is inner: you are always the I AM, and the 'gods' are thoughts and feelings that pretend to be power. When you identify with fear, appetite, reputation, or belonging, you bow to Baal or Ashtaroth in your mind, and you provoke an inner anger—the friction of false allegiance. The surrounding nations are not external; they are the myriad projections of a mind forgetful of its Source. The only true temple is inner awareness. Remember that God is not out there to be appeased but the I AM within you. To reverse this pattern, shift your assumption: declare that you are the One Life, and imagine these idols already dissolved back into the light of consciousness. Faith here is not belief in a doctrine but the willingness to feel that you are whole and untouched by these passing images. In this way, you restore the covenant of loyalty with the LORD, here and now, within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and declare, 'I AM the LORD within me.' Assume the I AM as the only reality and revise every idol as a passing image, feeling the unity of consciousness now.
